What happens after the Apostille is affixed
Civil-registry documents (birth, house registration, marriage) must be originals from the amphoe office and no older than six months. Academic documents require the issuing institution's seal. Corporate documents (กพ.20 / DBD affidavits) must be no older than 30 days from DBD issuance.
Original documents you must prepare
Once the Apostille is affixed, the document is usable in any Hague-state jurisdiction with no further embassy legalization. You may still need a sworn translator in the destination country to render the content into the local language — some states waive this requirement.
Warranty and re-issue policy
The 7–10-day cadence breaks down as: (1) original screening — 1 day, (2) certified translation — 2–3 days, (3) MFA lodgment and stamping — 3–5 days, (4) return courier — 1–2 days. Rush 24–48 hour lodgment is +30–50% because it consumes an MFA fast-track slot.
Common failure modes we screen for
Thai Apostille is accepted across 126 Hague members — the US, UK, Canada, Australia (non-visa uses), Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, and so on. Non-Hague destinations (e.g. India, or the UAE prior to 2023) require full consular legalization instead.
What THB 1,200–2,500 actually covers
The Department of Consular Affairs (Chaeng Watthana) is Thailand's sole HCCH-listed Competent Authority for Apostille issuance. Stamps from any other body — including provincial offices or private notaries — will be refused at the destination.
Why only Thai MFA can issue an Apostille
THB 1,200–2,500 per set includes certified translation, the MFA duty of THB 200 per stamp per government regulation, agency handling, domestic courier, and the certificate of accuracy. No hidden surcharges anywhere in the workflow.

Frequently asked
Q1.Which countries accept the stamp?
All 126 Hague Convention members — see hcch.net for the current list. China joined in 2023; the UAE also joined in 2023.
Q2.Do you serve clients outside Bangkok?
Nationwide. Send photos for assessment, then ship originals by Kerry/EMS. We return by EMS domestically and DHL Express worldwide.
Q3.Is 24-hour rush possible?
Sometimes — depends on the MFA fast-track slot and original readiness. Advance notice of one business day is recommended.
Q4.Translate before or after Apostille?
Most destinations want the Apostille first, then local translation. A few (Germany, France) accept a Thai translation and Apostille together. We advise per destination.
Q5.How long does it take?
7–10 business days. 24–48 hour rush is +30–50% because it uses an MFA fast-track slot.
Q6.Apostille vs consular legalization?
Apostille = single-layer for 126 Hague states. Legalization = three-layer chain (Thai MFA → issuing embassy → destination embassy) for non-Hague destinations.
Q7.Do I need to submit the original?
Yes. MFA must inspect the original with its issuing seal (amphoe / institution / DBD). Scans alone are not sufficient.
Q8.How recent must my document be?
Civil-registry and corporate documents should be within six months. Older records may require reissuance from the amphoe or DBD first.
