Quick answer

Choose a guide by what the receiving authority asked for: a translation, notarisation, or Thai MFA / embassy legalisation. Guides cover general preparation; confirm fees and timing with the authority or a written quote.

Frequently asked questions

Which guide should I read first?

Start with the category that matches what the receiving authority asked for: a translation, a notarised signature or copy, or Thai MFA / embassy legalisation.

Can a guide replace the recipient's instructions?

No. Guides explain general preparation; the receiving authority decides which translation and authentication it accepts. Get its instructions in writing and check the latest official notice.

Can Thailand issue apostilles yet?

Thailand deposited its instrument of accession to the 1961 Apostille Convention on 2026-06-30, and the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. Before that date, a Thai apostille cannot replace required authentication. Confirm whether the recipient requires translation, consular legalisation or another certificate; not every document needs notarisation or embassy authentication.
