Although a Passport looks short on the page, it is dense in registry-specific terms. The same Thai word can map to two different English/{"target-language"} terms depending on which ministry will read it. Thai-numeral Buddhist-era dates (๒๕๖๗) must be rendered in Russian numerals AND converted to Common Era on the same line; missing either half of that pair is the single fastest way to lose an MFA submission slot.

Translation of the data page is rarely required (it is already bilingual), but a notarized certified copy is frequently requested.

If you are reading this after a rejection notice landed on your desk, the cause is almost certainly inside the five-item list below:

• Names spelled differently across passport, Passport and supporting documents — Russian authorities require an exact match.
• Photocopies submitted instead of originals with attached translation.
• Missing MFA or embassy gate — most Russian authorities require both, not just one.
• Translations done by uncertified translators that lack the MFA-accepted seal.
• Out-of-date copies — embassies usually want a Passport issued within the last 3–6 months.

Most rejection notices for an otherwise-correct Passport trace to missing companion paperwork rather than a translation flaw; the items below are the ones the Russian side most commonly asks for.

• Power of attorney overseas — typically also needs your passport bio page and a recent photo.
• Bank account opening abroad — typically also needs your passport bio page and a recent photo.
• Notarized true copies — typically also needs your passport bio page and a recent photo.

Below is the production line every file walks through — none of the gates can be reordered, all of them are logged:

1. Document intake. Send us a high-resolution PDF/photo of the original Passport. We verify it is a current Amphur or court-issued copy.
2. Translation into Russian. Performed by our credentialed senior translator vetted by Thailand's Department of Consular Affairs. Names, dates and registration numbers are cross-checked against your passport.
3. Company certification. We affix our official translator seal and a signed declaration accepted by Thai MFA.
4. Thai MFA legalisation. Our courier files at the Department of Consular Affairs (Chaeng Watthana) the next working day. Standard return: 3–5 working days.
